Research Reveals the Importance of Nutrition for Fathers-to-Be

PORTLAND, OR–(Marketwired – January 03, 2017) – While the importance of nutrition to a pregnant woman is widely known, the fathers’ choices receive far less attention. However, according to nutraceutical company Kirkman®, research is making it clear that environmental exposures and nutritional choices of a father-to-be can have profound effects on reproductive outcomes, from failure to conceive to birth defects.

Smoking and excessive drinking are likely the most common (and most commonly recognized) reproductive hazards and both can lead to reduced sperm counts.1 But there are other common exposures, including many encountered in workplaces, that can have detrimental effects on fertility.2

Millions of chemicals are commonly in commercial use. According to the CDC, more than 1,000 of these have reproductive effects on animals, but few have been studied in humans. Several of those that have been studied have been shown to lower sperm count and/or deform sperm shape (which can reduce the ability of the sperm to “swim” effectively).

Lead, for instance, has been linked to both of these negative outcomes. Exposure to other heavy metals has also been linked to negative effects on sperm production. Potentially damaging chemicals used in workplaces include bromides (used in dyes, disinfectants, and insecticides), styrene (used in plastic production) and tetrachloroethylene (used in dry cleaning).

Body weight has been linked to low sperm counts, both oligozoospermia, which simply means a lower-than-average count, and azoospermia, which indicates a sperm count so low that sperm is actually undetectable. For both underweight and overweight men, there is a slightly increased chance of azoospermia or oligozoospermia. Those deemed “morbidly obese,” however, have twice the odds of low sperm counts.3

Research on the impact of diet on male fertility is still at an early stage. Some studies have merely confirmed that generally nutritious diets lead to better outcomes, but others have narrowed their focus to look at specific nutrients. One found that vitamin E and selenium supplementation both increased motility and reduced the concentration of malformed sperm.4 Another found significant count and motility improvements following regular, high-dose intake of vitamin C.5 High doses of vitamin B-12 were found to increase sperm counts for both humans6 and rats.7

Moral of the story, limit your exposure, replace products and take care of you if you want future generations to be happy and healthy.

SHAME on the FDA for taking 40 years to investigate Triclosan! I take matters into my own hands…

Colgate-Palmolive Removed This Potentially Harmful Chemical From Its Soap Products
But It’s Still In Your Toothpaste

Shame on you toothpaste brands for hiding Triclosan in the “Preservative” Ingredient category

Colgate removes Triclosan from a lot of their products, but yet it remains in their toothpaste! A big reason is because “the FDA “relies on company-backed science to show products are safe and effective,” according to the Bloomberg story. This means that instead of having independent, third-party researchers determine the effectiveness and safety of a given product, the FDA often accepts research studies funded by the company that is trying to seek approval.”

Shame on the FDA also for not having investigated this in a timely fashion.  “The FDA has never issued a comprehensive ruling on triclosan’s effectiveness and safety — even though it originally said it would look into triclosan in 1974. That was two years before “the U.S. Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976, which aimed to comprehensively regulate chemicals, grandfathered in existing substances with no safety testing,” Bloomberg notes. Now the FDA says it will issue a ruling on triclosan in 2016.  REALLY 40 years?  40 years? This infuriates me! It is known that triclosan has been linked to cancer-cell growth, it could disrupt the endocrine system, and has disrupted development in animals. According to the NRDC – Triclosan has been associated with lower levels of thyroid hormone and testosterone, which could result in altered behavior, learning disabilities, or infertility. Triclocarban has been shown to artificially amplify the effects of sex hormones such as estrogen and testosterone, which could promote the growth of breast and prostate cancer.

You can read the full article here.

If this is not lining your pockets I don’t know that is. STOP GIVING YOUR MONEY to these toxic giants, who do not care about YOU or your health, they care about the profit margins. The Natural Resources Defense Council, or NRDC said it best when they said “Is even a small potential risk worth it, when the benefits seem to be small-to-none? That is my question to you??! Give our toothpaste a try?

The Healthy Home Toothpaste is made from organic, EcoCert and ToxicFree® ingredients. It features antioxidant-rich Maqui berry and stabilized oxygen to whiten teeth naturally while helping prevent gum disease and cavities. Free from harmful ingredients like fluoride, sulfate, silica, triclosan and titanium dioxide, Toothpaste is safe for the whole family. Flavored with refreshing peppermint and sweetened with xylitol (which is known for its low glycemic impact and preferred by dentists), Toothpaste will help give your family a brighter, whiter smile.

To delve a bit further on #Xylitol- This ingredient has over 40 years of research and thousands of studies confirming its effectiveness and safety.  Xylitol is one of the newest, easiest and tastiest ways that people can fight cavities. Research done in widely different conditions confirms that xylitol use significantly reduces reduces tooth decay rates both in high-risk groups. So my question to you is triclosan or xylitol?

If you choose the latter- find by following this link

Did you know that bleach was once used as a choking agent?

Is There an Even Better Option?

bleach bucket

Adapted from

Chlorine bleach, household cleaners are often the most toxic chemicals found in homes yet most popular in America. Bleach is added to everything from toilet bowl cleaners and counter sprays to dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent. Of course, it’s also often used straight out of the bottle for an endless array of cleaning purposes.

The benefit to chlorine bleach is that it’s very effective in killing germs like viruses, bacteria and fungi. But the benefit does not come without a price. It resides as residue on all surfaces you use it to clean, it goes into your home’s air that you breathe, affecting your lungs, and it’s absorbed very quickly into your skin and your family members’ skin by everything you touch that was cleaned.

Chlorine is extremely poisonous and was actually used during World War I as a choking agent, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Chlorine gas is what gives bleach its pungent odor, and it can be pressurized and cooled to change it into a liquid form, which is used to make countless industrial and household products including bleach (both household chlorine bleach and bleach used in the manufacture of paper and cloth).

“Household bleach, used to whiten fabrics or remove mold from surfaces, is (ONLY) a 5% solution of a stabilized form of chlorine,” states the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

Health Risks of Chlorine Bleach

The active ingredient in bleach, sodium hypochlorite, is a combination of sodium and chloride.  This substance is not only incredibly corrosive and capable of causing irritation, pain and blistering if it comes in contact with your skin, it’s also potentially dangerous when inhaled.

According to Clorox, “Medical conditions that may be aggravated by exposure to high concentrations of vapor or mist [from Clorox regular bleach]: heart conditions or chronic respiratory problems such as asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis or obstructive lung disease.”

As you may also have heard, chlorine bleach reacts with ammonia, drain cleaners and other acids like vinegar and some toilet bowl cleaners. if you mix chlorine bleach with these substances, chlorine gas is released, which can cause the following even at low levels:

  • Irritation to your eyes, throat and nose
  • Coughing and breathing problems
  • Burning and watery eyes
  • Runny nose

If the chlorine gas exposure is high enough, it can cause:

  • Chest pain
  • Severe breathing difficulties
  • Vomiting
  • Pneumonia
  • Fluid in the lungs
  • Death

It’s therefore incredibly important to not mix bleach with any ammonia or acid-containing products, and this includes coming into contact with the urine while cleaning cat litter boxes or diaper pails. Bleach may also react with certain oven cleaners, hydrogen peroxide and insecticides, making its use a bit like playing Russian roulette.

Be warned, chlorine bleach has high risks if not handled with plastic gloves and no residue is left behind there could be a concern for autoimmune and other unseen cause of health problems, making it a very dangerous poison risk to your health.  According to researchers from the UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkely National Laboratory, cleaning a shower stall for 15 minutes with a product containing glycol ethers, which ar common in household cleaners are classified as hazardous air pollutants by the EPA, may result in exposures that ar 3 times the recommended one hour exposure limit.  They contribute to contamination of your indoor air, when you breathe this air, it is more likely to affect much more than your nose, mouth and even lungs.  Polluted air affects all of your body’s systems, particularly your respiratory and cardiovascular systems.

On a side note, (not endorsed by – editorial comment here) there are alternatives out there for sanitizing type products… Healthy Home has a fantastic product called Sanitizer Home and hand, which can be used to kill bacteria, fungi and viruses. Sanitizer Home and Hand contains stabilized chlorine dioxide (stabilized oxygen) that has been used for decades in water purification and is known to be effective against bacteria and viruses. It does not dry out skin, and because the active ingredient breaks down into table salt, it is safe to use on hands as well as surfaces including but not limited to tables, work areas and clothes. Home and Hand also contain OSHA root, which is widely used and considered effective for preventing respiratory issues. Perfect Touch Sanitizer is 100% toxic-free, and its oxygen-rich solution is unlike any alcohol based or aerosol sanitizer. It does not dry out your skin and it is safe to use on any surface. Generously mist your hands and rub under your fingernails for total protection. Spray directly on counter tops, work areas, changing tables, restrooms or minor scrapes and abrasions to sanitize.

See handout on contact time, concentration and results for each one below .

image-3 NewProduct Facts:

  • Home and Hand Sanitizer can be used in place of alcohol-based sanitizers for hands and aerosol-based sanitizers used for home.
  • Contains stabilized chlorine dioxide (stabilized oxygen) that has been used for decades in water purification and known to be effective against bacteria and viruses.
  • Home and Hand also contains osha root, which is widely used and considered effective for preventing respiratory issues.

Home and Hand Sanitizer Testimonials

SANITIZER is great for so many things, but my favorite use for it is on mirrors and bathroom fixtures. I can do a quick clean with NO streaks!”

Kris Larsen Glaister

Where to start? I love Sanitizer! It is so multifunctional… We use it to sanitize our hands, wipe down shopping cart handles, take stains out of clothes and use it on blemishes. I am sure there are many other uses, I have not discovered.”

Michele Caronna

Sanitizer is miraculous. I had a really painful eye infection while camping so I started spraying my eye with it about every 2. After two days of this it was 80% gone and on day three totally vanished. Sanitizer also works great on shopping carts or taking small stains out of clothes. My son got blueberries on his brand new tan shorts. I spritzed it, let it set for ten minutes then threw in the wash and it was gone!”

April Bunting

As a mother of 5, keeping things sanitized is of great importance. I tried to find all-natural ways that don’t use chemicals. Then, I found SANITIZER and I am in love. I can use it on their skin, the shopping carts, tables at restaurants, their toys, clothing and so much more. I even use it on my face in my daily cleaning ritual. It is one of the most AMAZING products out there!”

Misty Miller Vick

Our son gets bloody noses a lot. When I sprayed the Sanitizer on it, the blood stains quickly disappeared. The same thing happened with the raspberries that got smashed into our baby’s clothes. Sanitizer is awesome for so many purposes! I love it!”

Keesha Blaylock Brown

My husband’s Class A dress shoes had scuff marks. Well, thank you to Healthy Home Company’s Sanitizer, NOT anymore.”

Stacy Mae Hanno

I’m in a cleaning mood: dog slobber and Sanitizer.”

TOUCHDOWN!! Brig Hart Goes Public As An Owner Of The Healthy Home Company

Brig_Lita_HartBrig Hart unveiled today that he is an owner of the Healthy Home Company. The Healthy Home Company launched in January 2014 with twelve products and after several acquisitions and joint ventures now has over 100 products made from organic, ToxicFree®, EcoCert and all-natural ingredients.

Brig and several partners are focused on pioneering a new space they call Direct Retailing, combining the best practices from one-to-one marketing with a membership buying club to offer premium quality products at retail competitive prices.  This direct retailing approach has proven successful, as the company has broken two Diamond Executive ranked members in its first six months and brought over 20 couples to Belize in July, its first Gold incentive trip.  Several dozen members have already achieved ranks from Bronze level through Ruby.

The Healthy Home model uses word of mouth advertising to compete directly with large organic grocery stores, vitamin shops, all-natural products companies and specialty online businesses. Healthy Home pays active members a 10% commission for referring others to join the club based on everything they purchase, and uniquely for as long as they purchase products.

Members who wish to upgrade their membership and become certified Healthy Home Professional Representatives can earn a part-time or full-time income by participating in a unique, semi-traditional relational marketing opportunity.

Brig Hart has over 30 years of experience in relational marketing. As an all-star player with his first company, Brig successfully recruited millions of people and produced billions in retail sales, making his mark in the industry’s Hall of Fame.

In his next business, Brig not only replicated his previous recruitment and sales success, but also built a team that helped propel the company to become the fastest to reach $1 billion in sales, again making industry history. Brig has been a player, a team builder and now sits in the Owner’s Box of The Healthy Home Company.

“Over the past several years I have had the unique privilege of being mentored by Brig into an industry, I now strongly believe is the purest form of free enterprise ever created. Brig has made history in direct selling twice and this time being in the Owner’s Box he is certain to make an even bigger impact on the industry,” said Bill Glynn, CEO of the Healthy Home Company.

Brig is also introducing The Life Support System for Ultimate Success over the next several months. This teaching, training and education program has proven to be one of the most effective and successful mentoring and business building systems in the relational marketing industry. This mentoring system uses the principles that have made Brig so successful and helped him and his partners in the field break over 500 diamond-ranked professionals in his last business alone.

This online membership-based program is much different than what he has done in the past and includes certification programs for those willing to be mentored by Brig from basic training on through the most advanced education ever offered in the industry.

“My wife, Lita, and I feel blessed to be founders of the Healthy Home Company, a values-based organization that honors God, family, country and business. The Healthy Home Company is a safe haven for the millions of people who love relational marketing, as I do, where they can feel welcomed, appreciated and treated with the respect and honor they so deserve,” said Brig Hart, owner and founder of The Healthy Home Company. “I am looking for the first 100 people that I can personally mentor that share the Healthy Home mission to make the home a healthier place to raise a family.”
